The Transtel G2-ISU (IP Station Unit) is an extension interface card designed to be installed in the Transtel TDS 600 Series Hybrid IP Communication System, The ISU enables operation of the IP38 series IP Keyphone, as well as any general SIP phone, The ISU card, in essence, acts as the server to remote, or local, SIP extension phones, These devices, once connected to an IP infrastructure and registered back to the ISU interface card, become an integral part of the host system and operate seamlessly as system extension phones, Standard features of the GDS such as Making Intercom Calls, Trunk Calls, Voice Messaging, Paging, etc. are all available functions. The IP38 phone, when connected, behaves like a DK series Keyphone. Standard SIP telephones, when connected, have all the functions of a system "SLT" extension phone, The styles of standard IP telephone that can integrate with the ISU comprise an extensive variety from desk handsets, to softphones running on a your "road warrior" sales rep's PC, to single or multiport gateway units supporting standard two wire SLT phones, IP-DECT wireless handsets, even to smartphones such as the iPhone or Android types using 3G or WiFi to enable their link to the system The power engendered in the ability to connect "remote" extensions to your business system in this way cannot be underestimated,

NB: 1 channel equals 1 extension phone, and operation is non blocking - eg, ISU8 supports 8 concurrent calls
NAT Transversal function : allows installation behind standard CPE router/gateway (some conditions apply for certain configuratons), and supports multiple ISU's in each GDS system where full remote deploy of SIP extensions is required,
Choice of voice Codecs allows quality choice and/or bandwidth usage optimisation,
Use of Transtel IP38-61 as IP keyphone extension provides the same features and "presence" as a standard system DK keyphone,
Most third party standard SIP IP Phones (see text above) supported as "SLT" extensions,
Connection between SIP video phones supported when these phones are present on the same subnet (LAN/Intranet)
Automatic protocol adjustment for T.38 Fax relay to remote gateway endpoints soon to be available
Quality of Service (QoS) feature for LAN traffic inbuilt via "DSCP/ToS" programmable function
Software upgradeable for new feature additions as and when available
Requires Internet/Intranet broadband connection of sufficient bandwidth for channels x codec configured
